The Bois de Lauzelle is crossed by a main path forming a loop, accessible both on foot and by bicycle. Numerous small trails intersect this route, offering a variety of routes for birdwatchers. The woods are home to two watering holes: one, located in its center, marks the intersection of several trails; the other, is located to the west of the woods. There are two benches there, perfect for taking a break and observing the life around the pond.
In wooded areas, many common bird species can be seen, such as chapim-real, Chapim-azul, Chapim-palustre, Tentilhão-comum, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Carriça, Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto, Trepadeira-comum, Chapim-rabilongo, Pato-real, Galeirão-comum and Galinha-d'água. Other birds you can encounter are Estrelinha-de-poupa, Estrelinha-de-cabeça-listada, Chapim-de-poupa, Chapim-preto, Trepadeira-azul, Pica-pau-mediano, Pica-pau-verde, Garça-branca-grande, Garça-real, Tordo-comum, Pombo-bravo and Águia-d'asa-redonda. And if you're lucky, you might spot Pica-pau-preto and Guarda-rios-comum.

Français: Le Bois de Lauzelle est un bois de 198 hectares situé en périphérie de Louvain-La-Neuve. Il fait partie du réseau Natura2000. Le Bois de Lauzelle est traversé par un chemin principal formant une boucle, accessible aussi bien à pied qu’à vélo. Autour de cet itinéraire, de nombreux petits sentiers s’entrelacent, offrant une variété de parcours pour les amateurs d'oiseaux. Le bois abrite également deux points d’eau : l’un, situé en son centre, marque le carrefour de plusieurs sentiers ; l’autre, connu sous le nom de la Fourmilière, se trouve à l’ouest du bois. On y trouve deux bancs, parfaits pour faire une pause et observer la vie autour de l'étang.
Dans les zones boisées, on peut observer de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux communes, telles que la chapim-real, la Chapim-azul, la Chapim-palustre, le Tentilhão-comum, le Pica-pau-malhado-grande, le Carriça, la Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto, le Trepadeira-comum, la Chapim-rabilongo, le Pato-real, la Galeirão-comum ou encore la Galinha-d'água. Avec un peu plus d’attention, il est aussi fréquent d’y croiser Estrelinha-de-poupa, Estrelinha-de-cabeça-listada, Chapim-de-poupa, Chapim-preto, Trepadeira-azul, Pica-pau-mediano, Pica-pau-verde, Garça-branca-grande, Garça-real, Tordo-comum, Pombo-bravo ou encore Águia-d'asa-redonda. Et si vous avez de la chance, vous pourrez entendre - voire apercevoir - le Pica-pau-preto ou le Guarda-rios-comum.

The Bois de Lauzelle is located on the northern outskirts of Louvain-La-Neuve. If you're coming by car, the easiest way is to park in the Lauzelle car park. This free car park, accessible 24/7, provides direct access to the Bois de Lauzelle. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. If it's full, you can also park for free along Boulevard de Lauzelle (N250). Within the woods, the main paths are open to pedestrians and cyclists. However, the smaller paths are closed to bicycles, and dogs must be kept on a leash to protect the flora and fauna. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.

Français: Si vous venez en voiture, le plus simple est de vous garer au parking de Lauzelle. Ce parking gratuit, accessible 24h/24, donne directement accès au Bois de Lauzelle. Si celui-ci est complet, il est également possible de se garer gratuitement le long du boulevard de Lauzelle (N250). Sur le site même du bois, les chemins principaux sont ouverts aux piétons et cyclistes. En revanche, les petits sentiers sont interdits aux vélos et les chiens doivent être tenus en laisse afin de préserver la faune et la flore. Le parcours pédestre circulaire indiqué sur la carte fait environ 4 km.
