The Schlatzingeraue Natur Park is located in the center of the Maltatal and consists of a small resting area surrounded with wet grasslands and forests next to the river. A small track leads you around the grassland and next to the river, where species such as Alvéola-cinzenta and Melro-d'água can be seen. Small patches of bushes and scattered trees are great for songbirds, like Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto and Trepadeira-do-bosque and woodpeckers, like Pica-pau-malhado-grande.
The grassland has several patches with bushes in which species, such as papa-amoras-cinzento, can be found. With a bit of luck, a Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo might show up here too! The forests, mainly pine, are great for species such as Chapim-de-poupa, Chapim-preto and Estrelinha-de-cabeça-listada. Also, fairly large numbers of Quebra-nozes can be found here too!

The area has been appointed as resting area and provides a parking lot and several picknick areas. There's a small path surrounding the wet grassland area and next to the river.
