Descrição
Dampier Creek Saltmarsh is a large expanse of salt flats surrounding Dampier Creek which offers a good selection of Broome's birds. It is best birded by vehicle (4WD only) with stops as desired.
Sought after species often occuring here include Australian Bustard, Brolga and Singing Bushlark.

Access onto the flats is available via a sand track adjacent to the Broome Horse Riders Club along Broome Highway. Once on the flats a track broadly follows the marsh margins heading first east, then southeast. Press P on the map to access Google mapping.

This site is affected by very high king tides. If it has been recently inundated the track/s will be soft and muddy. Saltflats mud is particularly difficult to remove from vehicles and is really best avoided. See link for tidal predictions.
