Djimla Forest is also known as Forêt de Bouafroune. The forest sits at an elevation of 1,287 meters. It is a mixed forest with clearings where Algerian Nuthatch and Atlas Flycatcher can be observed. Other birds that have been spotted include Grifo-comum, Águia-cobreira, Águia-calçada, Coruja-do-magreb, Poupa, Abelharuco-comum, Levaillant's Woodpecker, Corvo and Papa-figos.

Djimla Forest is located south of the town of Djimla (marked with 1 on the map). It is best to explore the forest with a guide. There are local bird guides in Djimla (Karim Haddad: karim241267@yahoo.fr, Walid Soukkou: soukkouw@yahoo.com).
