The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. bernikla białolica, gęgawa, and bernikla kanadyjska all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of gęś mała. Other geese like gęś białoczelna, ges zbozowa, gęś krótkodzioba can often be found. Some years gęś tundrowa and bernikla obrożna are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like brodziec śniady, krwawodziób, sieweczka rzeczna (breeds), ostrygojad (breeds), and batalion. The lake holds large amounts of krzyżówka and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like krakwa, Płaskonos and cyranka. The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
