Opis
Despite its small size La Marjal dels Moros is home to some large bird populations of several species, including seriously endangered species. One of the highlights in springtime are the flocks of different types of wading birds that come here to breed, including colonies of rybitwa rzeczna, rybitwa białoczelna, żwirowiec łąkowy, rybitwa białowąsa and szczudłak. There is also a large breeding population of hełmiatka, which is increasingly rare in Valencia. The marmurka is another endangered species that breeds here, and the Marjal marks its northernmost location in Europe. In wintertime you can see large flocks of czapla nadobna and Płaskonos, as well as spectacular gatherings of kormoran, and it is not uncommon to see flaming różowy, czapla biała or ibis kasztanowaty. Other nice birds you can see include błotniak stawowy, perkozek, kokoszka (zwyczajna), modrzyk and zimorodek.
