La Higuerilla is a great spot to look for birds of prey. In 2024 I found 3 different sęp kasztanowaty nests in the oaks on the other side of the river, although some diligent scanning is required to find them. Also easily seen in spring and summer are kania czarna, gadożer and orzełek.
Be sure to check the riverbanks for fishing bocian czarny. On- and around the river czapla siwa, czapla nadobna and kormoran are present most of the time, as well as czapla purpurowa sometimes. Pay attention to the calls of góropatwa czerwona, which often can be found in the scrubland or even crossing the road.

La Higuerilla is easily reached from Villareal de San Carlos. It is the third viewpoint (on the left side of the road) after passing the Torrejon-Tietar dam. You can park next to the viewpoint. Press P on the map for directions.
