Bay where you can observe mewa romańska and by the rocks kulik mniejszy. In the desert area inland you can observe góropatwa berberyjska.
Bajo Negro is located near several biotopes. The first one is the sea. At sea here you will find mewa romańska and rarely mewa żółtonoga. If you are lucky, also głuptak or burzyk żółtodzioby. Another setting is the beach. You can easily see piaskowiec. If you continue further, you will reach the dunes. In the desert area inland the góropatwa berberyjska is found, skowrończyk mały and swiergotek kanaryjski.
The location is walkable. The advantage is that it is located right next to a hotel, where you can park, and where there are sometimes klaskawka kanaryjska. Click on the P in the map for directions.
During a visit or two in November 2021 I saw kulon (zwyczajny), dzierzba sródziemnomorska, pokrzewka okularowa in the desert area and on the beach warzęcha, szlamnik, sieweczka morska, siewnica as well as other mentioned species. The north end of Corralejo is worth exploring too. gilak pustynny quite common here.
Hello Dave, congratulations on a beautiful observation. I have seen some of the species you mentioned, such as szlamnik or warzęcha in Corralejo. But I didn't come across kulon (zwyczajny) here at all. However, I was only here for 10 days in February 2022 and I know I didn't see a lot of species (like the hubara saharyjska that was reported here). Someone even saw a głuptak here. Thank you for your response. Michal.
