Opis
Bihinga Swamp is an interesting place for birding because it hosts many rare bird species and Grauer's Swamp Warbler, an endangered and endemic bird species to the Albertine Rift. Behinga Swamp is also known to be the last spot of Maccoa Duck which eventually become extinct in Rwanda. Other birds you can encounter include Hooded Vulture, Yellow-billed Stork, Grey Crowned Crane, Pink-backed Pelican, Papyrus Canary, Papyrus Yellow-Warbler, Carruthers's Cisticola and White-backed Vulture.

The Bihinga Swamp area is easily acressible by all means from walking, vehicle and bike. You can park in the nearest center/village and the local community may look after your car or bike and buy some tea for them. Bihinga Swampis located in 2 km away from the tarmac road where you can possibly take public bus and get a local guide to lead you. You can possibly spent a half-day birding around the area.
