Manta Rota is a nice area to walk around on the boardwalks through the low dunes or on the beach, where sometimes mewa sródziemnomorska LRcd rests and rybitwa wielkodzioba can fly over. In the low vegetation in the dunes there are pokrzewka aksamitna and Iberian dzięcioł zielony. In the hinterland very many sójka iberyjska and on bare fields sometimes large groups of kulon (zwyczajny). In the early morning and evening hours sleeping migration of czapla złotawa and ibis kasztanowaty and both in the lagoon and at the river various wading bird species on migration.

The village of Manta Rota is located in the east of the Algarve, near the border with Spain. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The area can be explored on foot from Manta Rota or Altura via the boardwalks. The route shown on the map is about 5 km (one way).
