Opis
This spot is located 30 km north of Porto on the northern riverside of Ave estuary, where on low tide some mudflats become accessible for birds to forage. There is a nearby dock where gulls congregate. There (and looking from there to the southern river side), it's possible to spot mewa romańska (all year around) but it particularly pays off to keep and eye on gulls during winter since it's possible to find mewa żółtonoga, śmieszka, mewa czarnogłowa, mewa pospolita and mewa siodłata. On the mudflats it's easy to spot kamusznik and brodziec piskliwy. During migration the mudflats serve as a stopover site for waders and it's possible to spot kulik wielki, szlamnik and rycyk. On the trees and garden spaces its possible to find kos (zwyczajny), rudzik, szczygieł, kapturka, bogatka (zwyczajna), kulczyk and dzierlatka (zwyczajna), to name just a few.
