Opis
The Schinveldse Bossen are located in the valley of the stream Roode Beek. The forest also contains a number of agricultural plots and quarries that were created by the excavation of clay. Breeding in the reed beds near the old quarries are błotniak stawowy, brzegówka and perkozek. The northern coniferous forests are on sandy soil. Straight roads and drainage ditches run through this forest from the time when the area was used as a production forest. In the south and east, the hiking trails are narrower and more winding. Here are old deciduous forests whose soil consists of loess. Birds you may encounter in the area are 5 different species of Woodpeckers and birds like, puszczyk zwyczajny, krzyżodziób świerkowy, gil, grubodziób, trznadel, kowalik, świergotek drzewny, sosnówka, czubatka, muchołówka szara, świstunka leśna, mysikrólik and zniczek.

Nederlands: In het dal van de Roode Beek liggen de Schinveldse Bossen, het grootste aaneengesloten bosgebied in Zuid-Limburg. Het bos loopt geleidelijk over in de vochtige graslanden langs de beek. Het bos wordt onderbroken door landbouwpercelen en groeven die zijn ontstaan door de afgraving van klei. In de rietzomen bij de groeven broeden błotniak stawowy, brzegówka en perkozek.
De noordelijke naaldbossen liggen op zandgrond. Door dit bos lopen kaarsrechte wegen en afwateringsgreppels uit de tijd dat het gebied als productiebos werd gebruikt. Natuurmonumenten vormt de grovedennenbossen om tot natuurlijkere loofbossen. In het zuiden en oosten zijn de wandelpaden smaller en kronkeliger. Hier liggen oude loofbossen waarvan de bodem bestaat uit löss. Vogels die je in het gebied kunt tegenkomen zijn 5 verschillende soorten spechten, en vogels als puszczyk zwyczajny, krzyżodziób świerkowy, gil, grubodziób, trznadel, kowalik, świergotek drzewny, sosnówka, czubatka, muchołówka szara, świstunka leśna, mysikrólik en zniczek.

Located near Schinveld and close to the German border. There is a marked walking route of almost 9 km (see the map). The route can be followed via the black posts with gold stars. Parking is available at Restaurant De Lier (Leiffenderhofweg 3, 6451 PR Schinveld).

Nederlands: Gelegen in het meest noordoostelijkste puntje van Zuid-Limburg, vlakbij Schinveld en tegen de Duitse grens. Er is een gemarkeerde wandelroute van bijna 9 km uitgezet (zie de kaart). De route is te volgen via de zwarte palen met ringband en gouden sterren. Parkeren kan bij Restaurant De Lier (Leiffenderhofweg 3, 6451 PR Schinveld).
