De Palmerswaard heeft een erg afwisselend landschap in de uiterwaarden, dicht bij de rivier de Nederrijn. The Palmerswaard floodplain is located at the foot of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The transition between high and low is formed by a steep edge of 10 meters. A special forest grows on the slope with large specimens of ash, pedunculate oak, sweet cherry and blackthorn. A number of pools were dug along the steep edge in 2016. Birds such as trzcinniczek (zwyczajny), potrzos, krakwa and świerszczak nest among the reeds on the banks. The zimorodek and brzegówka nest in the steep waterfront.

Nederlands: De uiterwaard ligt aan de voet van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug. De overgang tussen hoog en laag wordt gevormd door een steilrand van 10 meter. Op de helling groeit bijzonder bos met grote exemplaren van de es, zomereik, zoete kers en sleedoorn. Langs de steilrand zijn in 2016 een aantal poelen gegraven. Tussen het riet op de oevers broeden vogels als kleine karekiet, rietgors, krakeend en sprinkhaanzanger. In de steile waterkant nestelt de ijsvogel en oeverzwaluw.
