De Ossenwaard has become a nature reserve after redevelopment. Due to the occurrence of special birds, such as derkacz and kropiatka, part of the area is closed every year during the breeding season.

De Ossenwaard can be reached from the A1 exit Twello or Deventer. Or via the Bandijk from Terwolde. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking place. You can explore the area on foot or by bicycle. The walking route as shown on the map below is about 4 km.
