The Noordzijdse Kade is located in one of the quiet areas of the Lopikerwaard. The quay leads past a number of wetland areas and the Blokland duck decoy. The area is very attractive as a foraging site for czapla purpurowa, czapla siwa, czapla biała and bocian biały. But warzęcha and waders such as ostrygojad and czajka are also regularly seen here. In winter, the area around the duck decoy is an important sleeping and resting place for thousands of ducks and geese. The quay is densely overgrown on both sides with willow, alder and rowan and there are reed beds in the vicinity of the duck decoy. This makes it an Eldorado for many songbirds such as szczygieł, pierwiosnek, strzyzyk zwyczajny, trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) en rudzik. In winter you can come across kwiczoł.

Nederlands: De Noordzijdse Kade is een uitgelezen plek om de czapla purpurowa te zien. Deze houtkade ligt in één van de stiltegebieden van de Lopikerwaard, loopt door de polder Broek en Blokland en vormt de grens tussen de gemeenten IJsselstein, Lopik (Benschop) en Montfoort. De kade voert langs een aantal plas-dras gebieden en de eendenkooi Blokland. Daarmee is dit gebied heel aantrekkelijk als foerageerplek voor czapla purpurowa, czapla siwa, czapla biała en de in dit gebied rijk vertegenwoordigde bocian biały. Maar ook de warzęcha en steltlopers zoals de ostrygojad en czajka worden hier regelmatig gezien. In de winter is het gebied rond de eendenkooi een belangrijke slaap- en rustplaats voor duizenden eenden en ganzen. De kade is aan weerszijden dicht begroeid met wilgen, elzen en lijsterbes en er zijn in de omgeving van de eendenkooi rietvelden. Daarmee is het een eldorado voor tal van zangvogels zoals szczygieł, pierwiosnek, strzyzyk zwyczajny, trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) en rudzik. In de winter kun je er kwiczoł tegen komen.

The Noordzijdse Kade can be reached from the Broekdijk from IJsselstein (East) (P1). From Benschop (South), the Noordzijdse Kade can be reached from the Boveneind Noorzijde (P2) via the Boerenlandpad, which is located between Boveneind Noordzijde 92 and 94. From Montfoort (North) you reach the Noordzijdse Kade via Blokland (P3). Please note: access via Blokland is closed from November 1 to March 1 due to the tranquility of the wintering birds. There is only very limited parking space at all these locations, it is best to explore the area by bicycle. On the West side you reach the Noordzijdse Kade via the service road of the M.A. Reinaldaweg (N 204) (P4).

Vanuit Benschop (Zuid) is de Noordzijdse Kade bereikbaar vanaf het Boveneind Noorzijde (P2) en wel via het Boerenlandpad dat gelegen is tussen Boveneind Noordzijde 92 en 94. Vanuit Montfoort (Noord) bereik je de Noordzijdse Kade via Blokland (P3). Let op: de toegang via Blokland is in verband met de rust van de overwinterende vogels gesloten van 1 november tot 1 maart. Voor al deze locaties geldt dat er slechts zeer beperkt parkeerruimte is, het best gebruik je de fiets. Aan de Westkant bereik je de Noordzijdse Kade via de ventweg van de M.A. Reinaldaweg (N 204) (P4).
