Landgoed Verwolde is a beautiful old estate with a forest, park, green fields, hedgerows, ancient oaks, rhododendrons and a beautifully preserved classicist nobleman's house from 1776. The garden and the forest are freely accessible. The rest of the estate is still privately owned. In the park forest you can enjoy walking and birding. The forest consists of oak and pine with an undergrowth of birch. The agricultural plots are surrounded by hedgerows with old pines. Breeding in the pine forests are jastrząb, myszołów, kobuz, czubatka and sosnówka. After sunset, uszatka and puszczyk zwyczajny can be heard. And in the park near the house you can find kowalik, pełzacz ogrodowy, dzięcioł zielony and wilga (zwyczajna). Other birds you can see are 5 species of woodpeckers, kruk, grubodziób, gil, trznadel and mysikrólik.

Nederlands: Landgoed Verwolde is een mooi oud landgoed met bos, park, groene akkers, houtwallen, eeuwenoude eiken, rododendrons en een fraai bewaard classicistisch edelmanshuis uit 1776. De tuin en het bos zijn vrij toegankelijk. De rest van het landgoed is nog particulier bezit. In het parkbos kun je relaxed wandelen en vogels kijken. Het bos bestaat uit eiken en grove dennen met een ondergroei van berk. De landbouwpercelen worden omgeven door houtwallen met oude grove dennen. In de dennenbossen broeden jastrząb, myszołów, kobuz, czubatka en sosnówka. Na zonsondergang zijn er uszatka en puszczyk zwyczajny te horen. En in het park bij het huis kun je kowalik, pełzacz ogrodowy, dzięcioł zielony en wilga (zwyczajna) ontdekken. Andere vogels die je op en rondom het landgoed kunt tegenkomen zijn dzięcioł średni, dzięcioł duży, dzięciołek, dzięcioł czarny, kruk, grubodziób, gil, trznadel en mysikrólik.

Parking is possible on the estate. Jonker Emilelaan 4 7245 TL Laren. Click on the P in the map for directions. The garden and the estate are freely accessible all year round. There are no fewer than 7 walking routes on the estate, including the well-known Pieterpad. So you can easily combine a walk on the estate with a longer walk or bike ride.
