The Hoornerbos was originally a pine forest, but gradually deciduous trees have also been planted. The forest is close to the sea and the pines on the north side of the forest have partly died due to the salty sea breeze. Nederlands: Het Hoornerbos ligt midden op Terschelling bij het dorpje Hoorn. Het was van oorspong een dennenbos maar geleidelijk aan zijn er ook loofbomen geplant. Het Hoornerbos ligt relatief dicht bij zee en dat kun je ook wel zien. De dennen aan de noordkant van het bos zijn deels afgestorven door de zoute zeewind. Goed gebied voor soorten van het bos zoals dzięcioł duży, sosnówka, piecuszek, pełzacz ogrodowy, czyż, mysikrólik, krzyżodziób świerkowy en muchołówka szara. Soms duiken tijdens de trek zeldzaamheden als świstunka żółtawa op. In het bos groeien de zeldzame dennenorchis en de kleine keverorchis.
