Opis
The Eilandspolder is open and wide in character with many wet meadows. The area also has natural lakes and wide waterways. The western part of the polder is relatively large-scale and open in character compared to the east. The western area is mainly used for agriculture. The eastern Eilandspolder is managed as a bird reserve. It has a more marshy and vegetated character with many smaller canals, but also wide main waterways. The entire Eilandspolder is rich in meadow birds, such as krwawodziób, czajka, kulik wielki, ostrygojad and rycyk. Ducks, other waterfowl and reed birds are also numerous. For example szablodziób, Płaskonos, ohar, podróżniczek, rokitniczka, błotniak stawowy and warzęcha. In winter you can see many geese and birds like świstun and siewka złota.

Nederlands: De Eilandspolder ligt in het midden van Noord-Holland, ingeklemd tussen de droogmakerijen Beemster en Schermer. De polder is open en weids van karakter met natte graslanden. Het gebied heeft ook natuurlijke meren en brede sloten. Het westelijke deel van de polder is relatief grootschalig en open van karakter in vergelijking met het oosten. Het westelijke deel wordt voornamelijk gebruikt voor landbouw. De oostelijke Eilandspolder wordt beheerd als vogelreservaat. Het oostelijke deel heeft een meer drassig en begroeid karakter met veel kleinere sloten, maar ook brede hoofdvaarwegen. De hele Eilandspolder is rijk aan weidevogels, zoals krwawodziób, czajka, kulik wielki, ostrygojad en rycyk. Eenden, andere watervogels en rietvogels zijn ook talrijk. Bijvoorbeeld szablodziób, Płaskonos, ohar, podróżniczek, rokitniczka, błotniak stawowy en warzęcha. In de winter zie je veel ganzen, eenden, zwanen, reigers en wintergasten zoals świstun en siewka złota.

There are cycling and walking paths along the dikes around and through the area, such as one over the 'ring dike' of the Schermer. There is also a bird hide in the area (see the map). Bicycles, canoes and boats can be rented in various places. The walking route that you see on the map is 15 km, but this circular walk is also easy to shorten. The Eilandspolder is large, so if you want to cover the entire area, you can do it very well by bike.
Please note: During the breeding season from 15 March to 15 June, the Kerkepad (see star icon on the map) is closed and you cannot walk this part of the walk.

Nederlands: Over de dijken rondom en door het gebied liggen fiets- en wandelpaden, zoals een over de ringdijk van de Schermer. Daar staat ook een vogelkijkhut. Op verschillende plaatsen zijn fietsen, kano's, fluisterboten en roeiboten te huur. De wandelroute die je op de kaart ziet is 15 km, maar deze rondwandeling is ook gemakkelijk in te korten. De Eilandspolder is groot, dus als je het hele gebied wilt bestrijken kun je dat heel goed met de fiets doen.
Let op: Tijdens het broedseizoen vanaf 15 maart t/m 15 juni is het Kerkepad (zie ster op de kaart) afgesloten en kun je dit deel van de wandeling dus niet lopen.
