Dijkmanshuizen is a fairly small brackish water lagoon, situated near the village of Oudeschild on the island of Texel. The area consists of a brackish water lagoon with several small islands and is surrounded by pastures and reedbeds. The area is a very good location for observaring waders, escpecially during high tide. Thousands of waders make use of the area to roost, like szlamnik, biegus rdzawy and biegus zmienny. Other waders, like kulik mniejszy, biegus krzywodzioby, siewka złota and sieweczka obrożna, can often be found in smaller numbers. The area is one of the best places on the island to observe certain species of wader, like rycyk, batalion and sieweczka rzeczna. During migration, the area is also a very good spot to observe biegus mały and biegus malutki.
Many waterfowl use the area as breeding and roosting location. Large numbers of bernikla białolica breed here and can often be found in large numbers. Also ohar can be very numerous. On the water, species like cyraneczka and Płaskonos can be seen and sometimes cyranka is present. In winter, the area is good for small numbers of łabędź czarnodzioby and large flocks of bernikla obrożna.
The area is surrounded by patches of reedbed, but especially on the northwestern side of the area, large reedbeds are present. Common reedbirds breed here, like trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) and potrzos. Also, several breeding pairs of błotniak stawowy are present and can often be seen hunting above the surrounding pastures.
On the eastern side of the area, a house with a large garden is present. The garden is a very good location for songbirds, like zaganiacz, piegża and cierniówka. On the surrounding pastures, small flocks of pliszka żółta can be seen and skowronek can be heard.

Nederlands: Dijkmanshuizen is een vrij kleine brakwaterlagune met enkele kleine eilandjes en is omgeven door weilanden en rietvelden. Het gebied is heel goed voor steltlopers, vooral bij vloed. Duizenden steltlopers maken gebruik van het gebied om te rusten, zoals szlamnik, biegus rdzawy en biegus zmienny. Andere steltlopers, zoals kulik mniejszy, biegus krzywodzioby, siewka złota en sieweczka obrożna, zijn vaak in kleinere aantallen te vinden. Het gebied is een van de beste plekken op Texel om bepaalde soorten steltlopers te zien, zoals rycyk, batalion en sieweczka rzeczna. Tijdens de trek is het gebied ook een zeer goede plek om biegus mały en biegus malutki te zien.
Veel watervogels gebruiken het gebied als broed- en rustplaats. bernikla białolica broedt hier en is vaak in grote aantallen te vinden. Ook ohar kan zeer talrijk zijn. Op het water zijn soorten als cyraneczka en Płaskonos te zien en soms cyranka. In de winter is het gebied goed voor kleine aantallen łabędź czarnodzioby en grote groepen bernikla obrożna.
Het gebied is omgeven door stukken riet, maar vooral aan de noordwestkant van het gebied zijn grote rietvelden aanwezig. Hier broeden gewone rietvogels, zoals trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) en potrzos. Ook zijn er meerdere broedparen van błotniak stawowy aanwezig en zijn ze vaak jagend boven de omliggende weilanden te zien.
Aan de oostkant van het gebied staat een woning met een grote tuin. De tuin is een goede locatie voor zangvogels, zoals zaganiacz, piegża en cierniówka. Op de omliggende weilanden zijn kleine zwermen pliszka żółta te zien en skowronek te horen.

You're not allowed to enter the area. There's an observation hide on the southern side of the area. You can park your car next to the road and walk towards the hide. Inside the hide, information is available about the possible birds being present and about certain colour ringing projects for, especially, szlamnik.

Nederlands: Je mag het gebied niet in. Er is een vogelkijkhut aan de zuidkant van het gebied. Je kunt langs de weg parkeren en richting de vogelkijkhut lopen. In de hut is informatie beschikbaar over vogels en over bepaalde kleurringprojecten voor met name szlamnik.
