Opis
Aberdare Country Club is located in Aberdare Country Club Sanctuary Conservancy on Mweiga Hill. You can search for birds when simply walking around the conservancy and they can be found in the forest, in the bush surrounding the golf course and even on the golf greens themselves.
In the forest you will able to see Somali Short-toed Lark, Blue-capped Cordonbleu, Red-cheeked Cordonbleu, and Crowned Hornbill.
In the bush and on the golf greens you will be able to spot the Red-billed Firefinch, Cape Robin-Chat and Cardinal Woodpecker. And due to the fact that this is a wild sanctuary, you will also see giraffe, eland, impala and zebra.
The most conspicuous group is the Sunbird, with seven species that include: Tacazze Sunbird, Golden-winged Sunbird, Malachite Sunbird and the Collared Sunbird.

Aberdare Country Club is located two and a half hours northeast of Nairobi. Press P on the map for directions. It is best to explore the area on foot. Because it is a hotel, you will either have to stay the night or have lunch or an afternoon tea (which is what I did), in order to go walking around and spotting the local birds.
