In the south-western tip of Sardinia, opposite the coast of Sulcis, lies Isola di San Pietro, an island with high, jagged cliffs that plunge into the crystal clear sea. Isola di San Pietro lies in the south-western tip of Sardinia. Ferries to Carloforte - the only town on San Pietro island - leave from Portovesme and Calasetta. The first one takes about 40 minutes, the second 30 minutes. There are numerous daytime sailings, approximately every hour.
