Opis
West Kowloon Park and the area surrounding the M+ Museum offer a rare blend of landscaped gardens, open lawns, ornamental ponds, and waterfront promenades. All nestled within one of the world's most densely populated urban areas. This unique combination of green and blue spaces attracts a surprising variety of birdlife, making it a rewarding birding spot for both locals and travelers.
The park provides excellent habitat for resident species such as the Red-whiskered Bulbul, Swinhoe's White-eye, and Oriental Magpie-Robin. In the cooler months, migratory species like the Black-faced Bunting, Daurian Redstart, and Yellow-browed Warbler pass through or overwinter here. Along the waterfront, birders often spot Little Egret, Chinese Pond-Heron, and various gulls and terns, especially during winter.
What makes this site truly special is its accessibility, scenic harbour views, and the contrast of vibrant wildlife against the backdrop of modern architecture and Victoria Harbour. It's an ideal location for a relaxing yet productive birdwatching session, whether you're visiting the museum or taking a peaceful stroll through the park.
