Opis
The raptor watchpoint near Kalloni provides a great view over the valley southwards that mainly raptors and storks tend to follow northwards during their spring migration. You need to have a bit of luck, but if you're there during a peak migration event, hundreds and hundreds of raptors and storks can be observed. Common species that can be seen are harriers, like błotniak łąkowy and even błotniak stepowy, storks, like bocian czarny and bocian biały, kurhannik, Steppe Buzzard, gadożer, Trzmielojad, krogulec krótkonogi, jastrząb, kobuz, kobczyk, sokół skalny, pustułeczka and sokół wędrowny. Scarcer species can sometimes be seen within flocks of other raptors, like orlik krzykliwy, orzelek poludniowy, orzełek and orzeł cesarski.
The area surrounding the viewpoint is also good for typical inland species, like modrak, białorzytka rdzawa and trznadel modroglowy.

There is a sheltered viewpoint (see map) available, which provides some nice shade during warmer parts of the day. You can easily park near the viewpoint. Click on the P in the map for directions.
