Opis
Located in nature reserve Untere Seeveniederung, the western shore of Lake Steller is a large open area with sandy grasslands and thorn bushes. The approximately ten-hectare area is grazed with cattle as part of the grazing project 'Seevengeti' and has an observation platform and an observation wall for zimorodek. Further observation points are located with an observation platform on the northwestern shore of Lake Steller and an observation tower on the southwest shore of Lake Junkernfeld. Among the birds you can observe in the area are zimorodek, wilga (zwyczajna), makolągwa, kormoran, czapla siwa, czapla biała and gęsiówka egipska.

By car towards Stelle-Maschen (near Hamburg). Parking is available at the entrance to the oil mining monument (Oelförderdenkmal). Click on a P in the map for directions. By train: the train station Maschen is on walking distance (1 km) of the entrance.
