Opis
On this walk, you will find several different habitats (river, river valley, forest, lake, open fields, wetland) and be able to spot a large variety of birds. For example, you can spot dymówka , bocian biały , trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) , dzwoniec , krętogłów , gąsiorek , wilga (zwyczajna) , perkoz rdzawoszyi , batalion and czajka. A very rare vagrant brodziec piegowaty has also been spotted here.
Please note that the Raßnitzer Lachen at the end of the walk do not hold water all year round. During dry years, they will dry out and the chances of waders and water fowl in those Lachen (pools) are low. After heavy rainfall however, the conditions can quickly change. So keep the recent weather in mind.

The Raßnitzer Lachen are located 20 km west of Leipzig. To get there, it is best to come via the village of Raßnitz where you can also park your car. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. By bike or on foot, you can of course take any path that leads to the Raßnitzer Lake.
The route shown on the map is 1.4 km long. It begins on the street Zur Weißen Elster in the village as it crosses the bridge over the Weiße Elster River. It leads along the edge of Raßnitzer Lake, including, near the start, an observation tower where one can look out over the lake. The route's end is where the path becomes a farm track on an agricultural field, so be aware that conditions here can vary.
