Opis
There are several ponds here where many waterfowl can be seen, including krakwa, świstun, cyraneczka, Płaskonos, głowienka, gągoł and several others. During autumn migration several different geese can be found here, and sometimes żuraw as well. perkoz rdzawoszyi, perkoz dwuczuby, and perkozek can often be seen here, and there is a tree in the Inselteich where kormoran and czapla siwa can often be seen sunning themselves. There are four observation towers which provide a clearer view over the lakes.
The ponds are surrounded by considerable reedbeds, which provide a home for brzęczka and trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) .
The bushes, trees and fields that make up the rest of the area are great for general birding all year round; gąsiorek and many small passerines are always present.
The Karower Teiche are the southern-most part of the larger protected landscape that includes the Moorlinse Buch and Bogenseekette/Lietzengraben areas. This whole territiory combined makes for the richest birding experience within the greater Berlin area.
