Opis
In winter, the Hurstsee is home to a great number and variety of ducks and other waterbirds. There are good numbers (between 15 and 100+) of krzyżówka, krakwa, czernica, głowienka, łyska and kormoran.
Smaller groups of cyraneczka and perkoz dwuczuby can usually be seen scattered across the lake. gęsiówka egipska and łabędź niemy are often present, as well as czapla biała, czapla siwa, zimorodek and pliszka górska along the fringes of the lake.
With a bit of luck, you can also see nurogęś, świstun, rożeniec, cyranka (on spring migration) or even a stunning bielaczek here!
Waterbirds are the main attraction, but the trees and bushes around the lake are worth checking too. There are plenty of common woodland / garden birds, plus a good chance of seeing (or hearing) any of the following: czyż, grubodziób, gil, pokrzywnica, zniczek, droździk and dzięcioł czarny.
