Opis
Extensive reed-beds and the adjacent wetlands surrounding the big lake Großes Meer are easily accessible and always worth a visit. Important breeding birds include rycyk, kszyk, czajka, uszatka błotna, błotniak stawowy, bąk, rokitniczka, podróżniczek and potrzos. In winter the lake hosts very large flocks of roosting gęgawa, gęś białoczelna, various other geese, ducks and gulls.

Various parking spots exist although in summer it can be crowded. Click on a P in the map for directions. Foothpaths lead around the lake and to numerous birding platforms. A number of signs provide information about the creation, importance and development of the lake and its water management as well as birdlife. The northern part of the lake is used for recreation and especially in summer can become crowded, the southern part is a protected nature reserve.
