Opis
The wet meadows of Elzwiesen are irrigated in March, August and November. End of March/ start of April and August are the best times to watch migrating birds on the flooded meadows. Common migrating spiecies are łęczak , batalion , kwokacz , śmieszka and cyranka. Also rarer species like warzęcha , kulik mniejszy and rycyk can sometimes be found on the irrigated areas.
Breeding birds are kulik wielki , czajka , słowik rdzawy and gąsiorek. Many czapla biała , czapla siwa and bocian biały can be observed feeding in the area. The meadows are irrigated in steps from south to north. So most times only one part of the area is flooded. Note that the area has limited access from March to June.
