Opis
Borkum is the largest of the East Frisian islands and therefore scenically varied and attractive. There are great hiking trails, a harbor and beautiful dunes and beaches. The German island of Borkum is located in the North Sea and can be reached by ferry boat within two hours or by catamaran within one hour from Emden. Another possibility is by ferry-boat from Eemshaven in The Netherlands. See the link to the ferry-schedules below. Unlike all other East Frisian Islands except Norderney, Borkum does not ban cars. But the best way to explore the island is by bike. There are several bicycle rental companies.
