Inselberg Mamilihpan is located at the extreme south of the department and located within the mature forest and little impacted by man. It is therefore possible to encounter bird species dependent on savannah but also bird species that depend on mature forests that are not degraded.

Français: Le Site est une savane roche localisé au sud de la Guyane. Il est possible d'y rencontrer des espèces inféodées a ce milieu ainsi que des espèces de la foret. La zone situé à l'extrême sur du département et localisé au sein de la forêt mature et peu impacté par l'homme. Il es talors possible d'y rencontrer des espèces inféodées au Inselberg mais aussi des forêt matures non dégradés.

Inselberg Mamilihpan is not easy to reach. Access is difficult and time-consuming. It is possible to get there by canoe and then on foot via more or less marked paths. Or by renting a helicopter.
