Opis
Plaine de Saunières is a large agricultural plain mixing meadows and crops. The flood plains are an ornithological hotspot during periods of winter and spring flooding. There are many species of shorebirds such as kulik wielki, kulik mniejszy, sieweczka obrożna, brodziec śniady, kwokacz, łęczak and krwawodziób. The bocian biały is very present in all seasons, just like different species of ducks. srokosz and drzemlik are regular winter visitors.

Français: Il s'agit d'une plaine agricole inondable se trouvant entre la Saône et le Doubs. Cette grande plaine agricole mêlant prairies et cultures est un hot spot ornithologique en période d'inondation hivernale et printanier. On y retrouve de nombreuses espèces de limicoles comme le kulik wielki, le kulik mniejszy, le sieweczka obrożna mais aussi les différentes espèces de chevalier. La bocian biały est très présence en toute saison tout comme différentes espèces d'ardéidés. La srokosz et le drzemlik sont des hivernants réguliers.

Plaine de Saunières is accessed either through the village of Saunières or through the village of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs via the D154. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking spot. There are many paths you can explore (more than 14 km are indicated on the map). Please note that some paths are closed to cars, please respect the road signs.
