Lac du Pêcher is a lake with a surrounding nature reserve that is part of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. Its area is 20.22 hectares and its altitude is 1,142 meters. The valley of Lac du Pêcher is protected because of the special flora and fauna. Birds that breed in the area are lerka, kszyk, głowienka, chwastówka zwyczajna, potrzos, wodnik (zwyczajny), czajka and perkozek. Other birds you can encounter are brodziec piskliwy, rybołów, kania ruda, kania czarna, błotniak stawowy, gąsiorek, kruk, pokląskwa, kapturka, gajówka and kląskawka.

Sa superficie est de 20,22 hectares et son altitude est de 1 142 mètres. Le vallon du lac du Pêcher a été déclaré Zone naturelle d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique (ZNIEFF), espace naturel inventorié en fonction de son caractère remarquable. Le département l'a ensuite classé Espace naturel sensible.

You can also explore the surroundings on foot. On the map you see a 3 km circular educational trail. This trail also passes the observatory.
