Along the waterside in the village La Franqui there is a walkway and lots of benches to sit and watch the birds. The best time to visit is by sunrise early in the morning. flaming różowy parade so close that your pictures will be super sharp! When the water level drops more and more, wading birds will appear! See the link to the tide table below. The lake holds a lot of fish and you can see large groups of kormoran fishing. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are flaming różowy, kormoran, brodziec piskliwy, kszyk, rycyk, sieweczka obrożna, piaskowiec and kamusznik.

Français: Au bord de l'eau, dans le village de La Franqui, le long de l'étang de La Palme, il y a une passerelle et de nombreux bancs pour s'asseoir et observer les oiseaux.

By car, from the toll road A9 go off by entrance and exit no.40. Take the RN9 afterwards the D627, after crossing the railroad go direct left, drive along the railway station Gare de Leucate- La Franqui. On Av. Pinet de Gaulade take the road called Chemins des Pitchinos, after a 200 mtr left Bd.des Coussoules, then take the 3 right Av. de Tamarins La Franqui. Parking is possible along the road. Click on a P in the map for directions. Take your time and use the whole boulevard from start to end. There is a separate walkway and easy to go on your bike if you stay closeby.

Français: En voiture, depuis l'autoroute à péage A9, prendre l'entrée et la sortie n°40. Prendre la RN9, puis la D627, après avoir traversé la voie ferrée, prendre directement à gauche, longer la gare Gare de Leucate-La Franqui. Sur l'Av. Pinet de Gaulade prendre la route des Chemins des Pitchinos, après 200 mètres à gauche Bd.des Coussoules, puis prendre la 3 à droite Av. de Tamarins La Franqui.
