Ile Dumet is a rocky islet of 8.5 hectares formerly surmounted by its lighthouse. The island is an ornithological reserve where watching out to sea can be very rewarding with sometimes rare species such as turkan, mewa obrożna or burzyk balearski. In order to preserve the wild fauna and in particular the nesting of birds, access to the island is forbidden in the breeding period. Visits are possible from 15th July.

Français: Seule ile de Loire-Atlantique, l'Ile Dumet abrite une réserve ornithologique qui est un sanctuaire pour de nombreuse espèces d'oiseaux. Ilot rocheux autrefois surmonté par son phare, l'ile (ou Ilot) Dumet est une réserve ornithologique ou le guet à la mer peut s'avérer très payant avec des espèces rares telles que l' turkan ou la mewa obrożna ou le burzyk balearski. Afin de protéger les oiseaux nicheurs, l'accès à l'île est interdit en période de reproduction. Les visites sont possibles à partir du 15 juillet.

Dumet Island is located in the Atlantic Ocean 6 km off Piriac-sur-Mer. Access by boat only. Certain areas of the island are forbidden to access: it is therefore necessary to inquire before planning an excursion there.
