This lake is little known. It is under water part of the winter and many birds find refuge there.

Opis

The lake is a breeding area for Camargue bulls. In winter, there are many species of ducks (krzyżówka, Płaskonos, kazarka rdzawa, cyraneczka) in summer, szczudłak and herons make their nest there, just like some bocian biały. You can sometimes come across remiz, or wąsatka. Just above, on the edge of the Canal du Midi, do not miss the nuptial flights of the kraska and the żołna, nesting in the earth slopes.

Français: Cet étang est peu connu. Il est sous les eaux une partie de l'hiver et de nombreux oiseaux y trouvent refuge. L'étang est aussi une zone d'élevage (taureaux camarguais). En hiver, on y trouve de nombreuses espèce de canards (krzyżówka, Płaskonos, kazarka rdzawa, cyraneczka) en été, les szczudłak et les hérons y font leur nid, tout comme quelques bocian biały. Vous pourrez parfois y croiser des mésanges de remizou des wąsatka. Juste au-dessus, en bord de canal du Midi, ne ratez pas les vols nuptiaux des kraska ainsi que les żołna, nichant dans les talus de terre.

To get there, park your car in the village of Poilhes and descend to the lake following the path below the cooperative cellar. All these paths lead to the lake. There is no shortage of landmarks, you will not get lost. In summer, the paths are passable on foot, on horseback and by bicycle.

Français: Pour s'y rendre, garez votre voiture au village de Poilhes et descendez vers l'étang en suivant le chemin en contre-bas de la cave coopérative. Tous ces chemins mènent à l'étang. Les points de repères ne manquent pas, vous ne vous perdrez pas. Mais n'hésitez pas à suivre le chant des oiseaux pour vous déplacer. En été, les chemins sont praticables à pied, à cheval et en vélo.
