Lake with a large reed field. From a bird observation tower you have a good view over the reed beds.
The bird tower at Taastrup Lake is located on the western edge of Taastrup Lake at the end of a long walkway that winds its way out through a marshy area. From the tower there is a view of a large reed field with Taastrup Lake itself in the background. In the tower there is a nice illustrative overview of the birds you can expect to see and hear in the area. Also along the walkway there are information boards. If you want to walk a longer distance: on the map below a 6 km circular walk around the lake area is shown.
It is possible to drive to the tower from the Stjær side or from the Lillering side and it is possible to park in a small parking lot at Stenskovvej/Bøgebakken. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the car park there is an approx. 250 meter marked walk to the bird tower – about half of which is on a walkway out through a very humid marshy area.
Nice place on a sunny day. Near by (cross the field) is the "Stenskoven" (Rock-forrest) that is also worth a visit.
