Opis
Sølsted Mose has is an old heath bog that has been restored after it was drained and cultivated during the 1900s. Much of the scrub has been cleared, the water level has been raised in parts and cattle graze the open areas. This means that the special heath bog plants will be protected and has improved conditions for birdlife. The open areas in the bog support typical birds such as bąk, kszyk, wodnik (zwyczajny), pokląskwa, kląskawka, brzęczka and świerszczak. Sølsted Mose has one of Denmark's densest breeding populations of podróżniczek, with upto 30 pairs. błotniak stawowy also nests here. Also remiz and żuraw breed in the bog.

Two parking lots, one at the end of Brændegårdsvej and another on route 11 between Sølsted og Bredebro. On the walk round the bog, two bird hides offer good views. Bring wellies, the area is often partially flooded and especially in the winter months the paths can be muddy. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 5 km long.
