Opis
The Maribo Lakes consist of four lakes: Søndersø, Røgbølle Sø and Hejrede Sø southeast of Maribo town and the smaller Nørresø. The lakes are home to breeding perkoz dwuczuby, perkoz rdzawoszyi and many species of ducks and geese, and the lakes have the country's largest population of krakwa. hełmiatka has been breeding at the lakes with a few pairs since 2003, the only place in Denmark.
Birds of prey also breed in the area. bielik have had chicks every year since 2003, and błotniak stawowy breeds in the reedbeds.

The nature school on the western shore of Søndersø is one of the easiest places to get to the lake, as it is state-owned. There is a parking lot here. Press P on the map for directions. It is a peaceful walk around lake Søndersø, many species of birds can be seen, both waterfowl, gulls but also songbirds and birds of prey. From the other parking lots in the area you can access other lakes and bird towers.
