The Teketo forest is considered to be one of the largest lime forests in Bulgaria. The area is a well known public park, where you can easiliy park your car and walk around the paths. The area is very good for woodpeckers and other forest birds.

Teketo is located in Northeastern Bulgaria, near the village of Nikolovo and a few kilometers from the town of Ruse. There are two main parkings. One near the big lake and another in the middle of the forest. Click on a P in the map for directions. The place can be accessed by car, bike or public transport from Ruse to the nearby village Nikolovo from where it takes 15 minutes of walking along the lake. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
