With 540 hectares, the Vagevuurbos and the Bulskampveld form the largest forest complex in West Flanders. An area with heather, pools, pine and spruce forest. The area is part of the Bulskampveld landscape park. Birds you may encounter in the area are dzięcioł średni, dzięcioł czarny, czubatka, sosnówka, puszczyk zwyczajny, pójdźka, krogulec, myszołów, mysikrólik and zniczek.

Parking is possible at Parking Aanwijs, Reigerlosstraat 69, 8730 Beernem. From there, the area can be explored on foot. There are many trails and many different walks to do. The route indicated on the map is a circular walk of approximately 7 km.
