De Straalmolen en Griesbroek is 17 hectares in size and is located in the municipality of Balen. This is a varied area in the valley of the Grote Nete where birds breed, recuperate during bird migration and hibernate. Some artificial nesting sites have been constructed in the dikes for brzegówka and zimorodek. Het bestaat uit grote waterpartijen, broekbossen en permanent historische graslanden. De voormalige viskweekvijvers zijn ingericht als vogelgebied. Griesbroek - Departure point Herberg 't Rustpunt (Sint Anneke 3, 2491 Olmen). From Mol, take the N18 (Molsesteenweg) in the direction of Balen. Continue straight on until you reach the Olmensebaan in the direction of Olmen. Enter it and drive straight on, turn left just before the canal Dessel-Kwaadmechelen and drive straight on to De Waterhoek. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking lot. It is best to explore this area on foot. Waterproof boots are recommended for the walk in the Griesbroek.
