The retired Uttoxeter Quarry has been flooded, and now hosts a range of water birds.
A substantial expanse of water with rocky islands and shores, hosts a range of water birds, including Storskarv, and species of goose, grebes and ducks.
Access footpath along South side of the quarry lake via the old A50 bridge over the Dove river, by passing under the adjacent new bridge. Pedestrian access to new A50 bridge from east of Uttoxeter services.
There are reports that this area will be developed further [at time of writing, 08/24], so access options may improve in due course.
