Country Park, local nature reserve with lakes, islands and reedbeds, ruined castle and caravan park, five miles east of Derby city centre.
The lakes, islands and reedbeds at Elvaston Castle Country Park are overlooked by six bird hides. Potential for improvement as only 58 species have been reported from the site. There are bird feeders and meadows producing food for finches etc. Expect to see Gråhegre, Isfugl, Halsbåndparakitt, Sivspurv, Toppand, gulls, warblers, Spurvehauk, Musvåk, Spettmeis and woodpeckers.
