The Rumpelweid is an open landscape with hedges and scattered trees. The area has been improved by conservationists with special measures for the Tornskate.

Access

From Olten you can make a beautiful half-day circular walk (see the map below). The walk starts at the train station in Olten of from the city center and then leads to the Banwald forest. You cross the Rumpelflüe and then after a short time you reach the Naturfreundehaus Rumpelweid. Sturdy shoes are recommended for this 11 km walk. From the Naturfreundehaus you have a beautiful view of Olten, the surrounding area and, in clear weather, the Alps. This trail can be a bit muddy after a few days of bad weather.
