Species such as Brunsisik, Rosenfink, Myrsanger, Hagesanger, Gråtrost, Gråfluesnapper or Vendehals can be observed in the floodplain forest . On the gravel banks along the Reuss there are Strandsnipe, Fossekall and Vintererle. The following species can be observed in the pastures and meadows: Vannpiplerke, Trepiplerke, Steinskvett, Slangeørn, Vepsevåk, Buskskvett, Maskeplystreand, Tornskate.

The floodplain area is located between the villages of Hospental and Realp. You can explore the area on foot. A circular walk around the area is about 3 km.
