Description
The big uppside with Stavstensudde may not be the amount of waders but how close you get to the birds. From the shelter one can get a very good view.
During migration from mid april to early june, and late july to early october this is a nice site for watching a good variety of shorebirds. For example Steinvender, Dvergsnipe, Sandløper, Polarsnipe, Brushane, Fjellmyrløper, Temmincksnipe, Lappspove and Tundralo. Also several pairs of Dvergterne are breeding.
Rarities that have been seen here are Hvitbrystlo, Tibetan Sand Plover, Damsnipe, Gulbeinsnipe and Alaskasnipe.
In winter time islandic Rødstilk and northern Sandlo and sometimes Fjæreplytt can be seen.
