Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Toppdykker, Knoppsvane, Sivhauk and in some years Rørdrum,Gråstrupedykker and Skjeggmeis. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Glente , Dvergspett, Stjertmeis and Gulsanger. During migration periods large flocks of Grågås , Kanadagås , Stokkand and Krikkand stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Musvåk, Fjellvåk, Glente, Svartglente, Fiskeørn and Havørn.
