Description
The Sandsjöbacka Nature Reserve is best known for its heather moors. Further north in the reserve, the forest dominates, largely coniferous forest, but also some deciduous forest. There are also several bogs and nutrient-poor lakes. The varied nature gives rise to a varied flora and fauna. Here live, among other things, moose, badger, fox, weasel, hare, mink and more than 150 species of birds, including Sangsvane, Trane, Trelerke, Toppdykker, Grønnspett, Svartspett, Nattravn, Orrfugl and Fuglekonge.

In Sandsjöbacka there are many trails you can follow to explore the area. On the map you see a 14 km circular trail through varied landscapes with coniferous forest mixed with rocks, beech forest and pastures with grazing horses. Along the trail you pass several small lakes. You can easily shorten the route. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking.
