Description
The Långfjället Nature Reserve is one of Sweden’s largest. The highest peak is Storvätteshogna, at 1204 m. It has areas of pure primeval forest without traces of forestry. On the moutain plateau it is lovely walking with plenty of birds on top and in dales. Lots of Fjellrype, Heipiplerke, Heilo and Steinskvett. You also find Lavskrike (in the coniferous forest) and Gluttsnipe (around small bog areas in the forest). And along the streams and rivers the Fossekall is a common sight. In the lakes and streams you can find ducks like Krikkand, Kvinand and Storlom.You can also encounter moose, foxes, martens and brown bears.
